Samantha's QuestionI have a round face and curly hair. Do you have any ideas for a short to medium haircut that would suit me?I'm hispanic and have long curly hair. I've only had it trimmed and layered to keep it around the same length for most of my life.
After having the same style for so long, I want to cut it short or at least an inch above my shoulders.
The problem is, I have no idea what specific type of cut is best for both my face and hair. My face has a round shape, and my hair has defined curls.
I've spent hours searching for a picture to show my stylist, but I haven't found anything that I'm confident will match both my hair and face types. Do you have any ideas on what I should have done? Samantha
Nicole's Answer:Dear SamanthaFinding the right hair style can be challenging for anyone. I'm glad you are taking your time and taking into consideration the texture of your hair.
Ideally, for a round face shape you would want to avoid creating weight at the round part of you face. Keep the length of your hair below your chin and play with layers to create height. Find a stylist who can cut with your curls to eliminate the triangular effect.
Always remember a good style for your face shape will accentuate your positive features.
Finding a picture for your stylist is still a good idea. There are many web sites with curly photos to look at.
If you see someone on the street with the style you like ask them if you can take their picture. I know it sounds crazy but ... desperation is a good motivator!
Best of Luck, Nicole
