Nicole Siri's
Tips for Styling Curly Hair

Kristina's Question

I am 15 and I don't like my hair. It's long, REALLY thick, wavy, and it gets really frizzy. How can I let my hair down?

Hi Nicole,

my name is Kristina. I am 15 and I don't like my hair.

My hair is REALLY thick, wavy, and it gets really frizzy. I don't know what to do.

I want to let my hair down. I don't know what to do to my hair. My hair is long - it's by my waist.

Please help me.

Thank you.
Kristina

Nicole's Answer:

Dear Kristina

Curly hair by nature tends to be more dry. Which leads to frizz. If you feed your hair the nutrients it needs you will be able to help the frizz.

Start by getting a good deep treatment, I like the Ouidad deep treatment. This works from the inside out so be patient; it might take a month or so to see a consistent change in your hair.

Use a light leave in conditioner (Ouidad Balancing Rise Conditioner) and then a good water soluble styling gel. Apply the gel in sections, from the root area to the ends. Use a good amount of gel so you evenly distribute it through the hair.

Also, consider getting a good hair cut. Find a stylist who can cut with your curl to help remove the weight and enhance your curl at the same time. Until you have styling figured out I'd keep your length a little more manageable; in the mid-back area.

Good luck!
Nicole
