Karen-3's QuestionAs I get older I am losing a lot of my natural curl. My hair is more frizzy than curly. Any suggestions?I have always had curly hair. However, as I get older, I am losing a lot of my curl. It is more frizzy than curly.
I have long layers and wear it close to shoulder length. I scrunch a lot of product in it to make it look more curly, but I don't think it looks the best.
Any suggestions? Karen-3
Nicole's Answer:Dear Karen-3Aging does some crazy things and unfortunately our hair can be affected.
I have known people who had curly hair all their life and as they got older it went completely straight. Blame it on the hormonal change maybe?
I would try product application. Work your product in, section by section, from root to end in a raking motion. After the product is worked in well, dry your hair. Gently take a big handful of hair and just hold it in place with your diffuser. After that section has a nice curl to it, do the next section.
Try not to toss your hair and flip it around while it is drying. Motion create frizz and fluff. After your hair is dry and the lotion is set then you can toss the hair and "rough" it up a bit if you wish.
With this said, make sure you are using water soluble gel and stay away from wax and oil based products. Choose a product line made for curly hair. I have some suggestions on other Q&A on curly-hair-styles-magazine.com and on my web site: strictlycurls.com
Good Luck, Nicole
