Casey's QuestionCan you suggest a nice, easy cut or style for medium wavy hair with HUGE volume?Help!
My hair is dark blonde and medium wavy. When I let it air dry, it's wavy all over, a look I hate. I'll blow-dry it but it gets HUGE (hairstylists always comment about the amount of hair I have).
At the end of the day, it usually ends up pretty straight on the sides with curls on the bottom, and wavy in the back. I usually wear it in a ponytail because I don't know what to do with it besides straighten it, or put it up.
My current hair cut has long layers in the back and sides, and it angles around my face. The side pieces are too short to put back, which I don't like.
Can you tell me about a hair cut and/or style that's easy to do but still looks nice to help me?
Thank you so much! Casey
Nicole's Answer:Dear CaseyIt sounds as though all is not well with your hair...
To try a new style:
alter your curl pattern to create a curl you like by putting hot rollers in it.
You could try doing this at night so the curl has time to relax overnight. To do this put the hot rollers in hot. Wait till they cool then take them out.
Depending on the roller size your curl may be really tight or loose. The smaller the rod the tighter the curl.
Sleep with your curls pulled back in a loose scrunchy or covered elastic. In the morning take out the scrunchy, put a little taming product in and you're good for the day.
If you are looking for other ideas to wear your hair up check out my book Strictly Curls.
Aside from styling your hair I would find a stylist who can cut with your curl, to take out some of the weight. Cutting with the curl may also enhance your curl. A great hair cut makes styling a breeze.
Good luck! Nicole
