Ari's QuestionHow can I make my naturally curly hair hold its curl?I have naturally curly hair (which I Love!) but when I curl it, it doesn't hold the curl for very long.
Do you have any suggestions on what I should do? Ari
Nicole's Answer:Dear AriDear Ari,
Get a hair cut that will help encourage your curl. You can do this by finding a stylist that cuts with the curl.
Also, check out your products. There are many products out there that are not made for curly hair, and say "curly product" on them. Meaning the ingredients in them do not benefit the curl - they may have a lot of waxes, oils or silicones in them. These ingredients can weigh down the hair and not allow it to bounce up to its full performance.
This is why I always recommend sticking to a curly hair product line. There are many to choose from these days, to name a few: Deva Curl, Mop Top, Curlisto, Ouidad, Jessicurl. I especially like the Deva Curl line. They have a shampoo (No-Poo shampoo) that I love. It has really helped the condition of my hair. The ingredients help encourage your curl.
Whichever product you choose try it for a good amount of time, like 2 months straight. this will give your hair time to adjust to the new product; you'll really have a good idea if it works for you or not.
Good luck, Nicole
