Anna-2's QuestionI have very tight curly hair that I have to wear in a bun because it's so hard to brush once it's dry. How can I wear it down sometimes?I have very tight curly hair which is slightly past my shoulders and when it is wet it comes up to my neck. And it gets very hard to brush once it's dry, and because of this it's always in a bun.
I would like to wear it down sometimes or in a pony tail, without having to plait it.
Thanks a bunch if you could help. Anna-2
Nicole's Answer:Dear Anna-2Rule number 1: Never brush curly hair when it is dry!
Brushing dry curly hair disrupts the curl pattern and causes the hair to get big and poufy.
After you get out of the shower and put in your leave in conditioner you can brush your curls. Use a wide tooth comb and start from the ends and work your way up. The leave-in conditioner will help alleviate the tangles. (Ouidad balancing rinse conditioner) The hair is weak when it is wet. It can stretch and break more easily so be gentle.

Your curl can be down and soft not crunchy. You just need to de-crunch your curl.
