My hair tends to be indecisive and really curly. Sometimes it's rather flat, so I use all types of stuff. lol
There is a new serum out from Garnier that is a little costly, probably about 10 dollars a bottle, but works really well. You just need to use a little squirt of it and rub it over your hair. It is oily so it stays on your hands a bit, but I think it works wonders with curly hair. I like the fact that it's oily because although my hair tends to be really soft and shiny, it gets dry too. The oil that is in the serum just keeps my hair looking nicer.
Otherwise there are a bunch of serums. I have had the best luck with Garnier's products.

There are a lot of choices in products these days. I recommend sticking to a water based gel. This way the product will wash out of your hair and not build up.
Working your product in section by section, from root to end, helps with frizz. This way you are evenly moving the product through the hair.
Products to try: Deva Curl Angell or Arch Angell, Ouidad, Mop Top, or Curlisto. All these products are good for curls because they are water soluable and made for curls. They are not wax based or silicone based.
