A medium curly hair style is a much more versatile proposition than any short hair cut.
It suits more face shapes.
Humans find oval faces attractive. That's a built-in, hard-wired, biological aesthetic. If you were born with an oval shaped face you'll be able to wear virtually any hair style and look good.
Consider yourself lucky.
For everyone else, the goal of any hair style is to create the illusion of an oval face.
The extra length in a medium hair cut can be styled to do this. It can soften or conceal the relative widths of forehead, cheeks and jaw, add width where the chin is relatively narrow, and add height to round, heart or square faces.
Curly hair in particular is great for adding height. Use a clip to raise the top of your hair while it's air-drying. When the clip comes out your hair will be taller.
If your face has a particularly pointy chin or a classic heart shape, a medium curly hair style will be among your most attractive possibilities. Medium length hair can add width around your chin and height at the top of your head, and disguise the shape of your forehead.
A medium curly hair style will work similarly for diamond faces, except that your forehead already narrows towards the hairline, so you're really making your forehead seem wider rather than narrower when you conceal its edges.
A triangular face is the inverse of a heart shape - your forehead is narrower than your chin, and you need to bring the two into balance. Try a medium curly hair style that softens the cheeks and forehead and decreases the apparent width of the jaw line.
Round faces need to be lengthened and narrowed so they appear more oval. You can do this with a medium curly hair style that's taller on top and longer, lower than your chin, bringing hair in from the sides to narrow your cheeks. This way you're adding length to your face and reducing its overall width.
A rectangular face has the desired oval hidden inside its borders, but needs the corners knocked off. Use your hair to soften the edges of your forehead and chin and blur the line of your cheeks. Think of styles where the hair sweeps down over the forehead, outwards to the cheeks, and in again across the lower half of your face.
Experiment in front of a mirror. Decide what shape your face is, and try to make it appear oval by rearranging your hair. Chances are you'll be well on the way to finding a medium curly hair style that flatters you beautifully and really gets you noticed.
