But she styles her hair with incredible foolishness, so that curls flick away from her face at exactly the point where they earnestly should begin covering it. Her eyes are already too big and too wide. They stretch almost to the edges of that massive rectangle. Camera positioning can't change that. Even at this angle, the potentially attractive curve of her chin and right cheek is dwarfed, overshadowed, plunged into obscurity by those vast eyes straining sideways and the mass of forehead that looms above them. The full catastrophe of this Jessica Simpson short hair style is even more evident when seen from the front and side. The second picture in the bottom row says it all. There's potential in that off-center part to do something with the forehead ... like hide it! But she sweeps her hair up from the part for no good reason - I guess she thinks a curl might be nice there - so that when it descends it's way out near the edge of her face and leaves a huge stretch of forehead exposed behind it. As if that's not enough, she stops the downward motion that could narrow her face dramatically and drives her hair out again, away from her face just as it approaches the straight line of those massively mascaraed, outwardly urging eyes. By the time her hair makes a half-hearted feint back in towards her cheek it's too late. Her face is a block and her hair is an outline in exactly the same shape. Like a child's drawing. The last picture in the top row shows how Jessica Simpson short hair turns a rectangle on its side. Her face in this photo has become a cliff edged with jagged outcrops. It hangs from one end of a mountain of curly hair whose shape is utterly rectangular. Well, maybe it's a trapezium. But it's a long way from anything remotely resembling an oval. Jessica Simpson short hair is not something to emulate. This woman has no idea. I don't know Jessica Simpson, I've never heard her sing or seen her perform, never watched her TV show, and for all I know she might be the most wonderful person on the planet. But if she's to remain in the public eye, if she's to continue being photographed as a celebrity and held up as some sort of role model, then somebody has to tell her how to style curly hair. And to keep away from short hair! And please! Confiscate her mascara before she does any more damage!
