It's surprising how many Jenifer Aniston hair styles there are.

Given the legendary status of something called Jenifer Aniston hair, you'd be excused for thinking that there was one and only one hair style ever worn by this celebrity woman.

And Jenifer Aniston is famous for one hair style in particular.

But throughout her time as an actress and celebrity she's actually worn many different hair styles.

Not many short ones, though. And not many updos, either.

There is a kind of Jenifer Aniston updo in this gallery, taken from the delightful and very funny movie Office Space. Aniston's hair is red - very red - and lifted in a high ponytail that fans out in curly locks from the crown of her head.

Notice that her hair runs down across her forehead at quite a sharp angle. Unusually for ponytail styles it doesn't head straight for the top of the ears, but aims for a point well in front of them.

That's where Aniston's hair line really lies. And all of her hair styles that look good manage to conceal that underlying shape.

The most unusual hairstyle in this gallery is probably the last. But when you look at the way her hair is arranged on her face, it's almost identical to the photo from Office Space.

Her hair is pulled back into medium length pigtails that just rest on her shoulders. A long, wavy, light toned strand travels down from the part, following and concealing the hair line and drifting across her cheek. On the far side, the angle down from the part is also sharp.

The same loose strand is present in the movie still, but on the opposite side.

Also unusual among Jenifer Aniston hair styles is the style she wears in the second photo of the bottom row. On top her hair is almost super curly, braided and piled loose to give it lots of volume and a tall, rounded profile above the ears. From below that point her hair emerges onto her shoulders in twists that have held their shape after being freed.

The inevitable loose lock is there at the front, following Aniston's hair line on one side and continuing down to cover much of her cheek.

Jenifer Aniston hair styles even include the long, windswept and tousled curly look you find in so many beach-side supermodel model photos. She has one of these hair dos in the top row, beside the curly red haired ponytail photo.

Instead of a beach, Aniston poses against a rural scene, wheat stalks at her hip and hills rising in the distance.

For wavy Jenifer Aniston hair styles, have a look at the third and fourth pictures in the bottom row of the gallery, and the fourth phot in the middle row.

One of these styles is very long indeed, and its initially wavy texture becomes much more curly at the end. It's only a small picture and hard to make out details, but you'd have to suspect that this Jenifer Aniston hair style includes extensions.

The close-up reveals that it's not particularly natural curly hair Aniston is wearing - the curls are too even, too flat and broad in their styling. It's a pretty look but it suits her best when she's not directly facing the camera but slightly turned away.

Why is that?

In the best tradition of Jenifer Aniston hair styles, it disguises what frontal symmetry can reveal - in this case, it diminishes the harsh lines created across her cheeks and along the jaw where her square chin emerges sharply.
