Celebrity curly hair cuts get the exposure. But in these pictures, a curly person whose name we don’t know outshines the famous person in front of her - and her curly hair cut.
What do Faith Hill, Geena Davis, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jane Rutter (WHO?), Amanda Peet, Natalie Portman, Chelsea Clinton and Liv Tyler all have in common?
Apart from their celebrity status? Well it can't be that. There are People Whose Names We Don't Know, too.
But there is one thing all these women have in common and it is, of course, their hair cuts for curly hair!
What?
Sarah Michelle Gellar with a curly hair cut? No way! Doesn't she have this straight blonde hair that curves in below her chin and looks really cute!
Yes!
But not always!
And the proof is here, in a picture of Sarah wearing a very curly medium length hair cut. It's below her chin, it doesn't curve inwards, and it's very cute indeed. Behind her is another woman with equally beautiful and (very possibly) naturally curly hair. It's longer than Sarah's. Longer and redder.
In fact the entire picture is red. Very red. But Sarah's hair is blonde.
At least they didn't change that.
Geena Davis?
She's here three times with hair cuts for curly hair.
One is a blonde, piled up hair do with big loose curls, and spirals hanging down beside her cheeks. This style doesn't suit Geena Davis at all. The shape is wrong for her face. Her jaw looks too square for all that curly, girlish froth. And the colour's wrong. Wrong for her skin tone, wrong for her eyebrows ... Wrong.
Now Geena's other two hair cuts for curly hair do a better job of complementing her looks. Both are medium length, level with the jaw line, full of volume.
In the black and white picture Geena really does look gorgeous. Her face is actually quite broad and this hair style, tumbling down over her left eye and covering virtually the whole cheek, is perfect to disguise that width. The shape of her face is completely transformed.
Geena said once that she could tolerate her own looks more in movies than in real life. Maybe it's just that Movie People make sure the hair looks right.
The last picture of Geena, in colour, shows a more windswept hair style. It covers half her forehead, the other half this time, and partly hides an eye, but there's too much width left open at the cheeks. Her face seems almost round in this image. It's a better look than the curly updo of the first image, but not as flattering as the black and white.
Faith Hill appears here with two hair cuts for curly hair.
One of her styles is that rare breed, a short curly hair style. It suits her, too. Must be the oval face shape. Her other look is a medium length botticelli style, just touching the shoulders and boosted slightly at the hair line. Pleasantly casual, disordered and friendly.
Natalie Portman, Amanda Peat, Liv Tyler and Jane Rutter (WHO?) each appear just once in this gallery of hair cuts for curly hair.
Liv Tyler looks quite severe in her picture - which proves the versatility of curly hair and how, even if you do embrace your curls, you don't have to give up bad moods completely. Maybe she's not angry. Maybe it's the lighting, or the way her eyebrows angle sharply downwards as if she's ... angry.
Natalie Portman's hair cuts for curly hair look is fresh, young, hesitantly smiling. Guileless. Looking directly into the camera. Her curls, like Faith Hill's, reach to the shoulders in happy disarray, and some of them are braided.
Amanda Peet? Well, it's a bad photo with lots of harsh backlight, but she's wearing one of the medium length hair cuts for curly hair that always, invariably, absolutely, make her a magnet for male eyes.
Have we forgotten anyone? Ah yes - Chelsea Clinton.
The former President's daughter is here with three different hair styles. Or maybe it's one hair style cut to three different lengths.
The first is a windswept and fairly flattering bob style. The second is a loose, windswept, shoulder-length style well suited to the sort of wide open spaces you need binoculars in. And the third is a wind-not-swept, almost shoulder length style that seems to flick up at the back.
This last suits her the least.
But Miss Clinton is not the important person in this picture at all. The real star of this image is one of the People Whose Names We Don't Know, who wasn't the one being photographed, who simply happened to be in the right place at the right time. For our purposes, anyway.
Can you see, behind Chelsea Clinton, on the right of the photo, the girl with the wonderful curls sweeping down both sides of her face?
I wonder who she is ...
Three more pictures of people wearing hair cuts for curly hair. Two are hair style models whose names we also don't know.
And that leaves - Jane Rutter!
Who is Jane Rutter?
I'm surprised you have to ask. She's a celebrity! Der!
She's an Australian who plays the flute - plays it extremely well, they say - and she always wears hair cuts for curly hair.
Must be naturally curly!
