K.K,

Man do I want to meet you!! I would love to see your hair in person. But... this will have to do :)

Sounds like you have done it all. You mentioned a few key notes in your question. You said you probably need a good haircut. Do you thin your hair? The method of "thinning" is very important. Read Q&A on this web site for thinning curly hair. There is good useful information there that might help you. A good hair cut is key.

Also, products you use on your hair will help. Checkout Q&A on products and how to control frizz.

Something about curly hair that all curlies have to come to peace with, is that your curl has a mind of its own. It will be different on a daily basis. We can feed it what it needs and hope for a good day... otherwise, pull it up. Check out my website for quick ways to wear your curls up at strictlycurls.com.

Best of Luck,
Nicole

Try This
by: Anonymous

From your description, your hair is a lot like mine. It took forever, but I finally found a routine that works for me.

Try this:

wash and condition with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner (I use Alberto V05 Moisture Milks Passionfruit Smoothie ... Only $.75 A bottle at Walmart and just as good as any salon brand I've ever used), towel dry, spritz on Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer spray, blow dry using a paddle brush to smooth as much as possible, then use a flat iron to smooth out the frizz.

Finding the right amount of heat for your hair is key, so be sure to use an iron with adjustable heat and start out on a lower setting and move it up until you get the desired result (prevents frying).

If you want curls, straighten your hair out some with a flat iron first, then go back with a curling iron or just use the flat iron to flip the end whichever way you want.

Good luck!
