And it does.

These women aren't easily caught out with a lame hair style. They know what looks good, they know what looks good on them, and they cut straight to the chase.

Each of them has her own take on medium length curly styles.

Christina Aguilera's experiment and ongoing fascination with Marilyn Monroe hair styles makes her a bona fide devotee of medium curly hair styles.

This particular platinum blonde, medium length ground was pioneered not only by Marilyn, but by Jean Harlow and Mae West.

Christina isn't dogmatic in her devotion - eschewing Marilyn's off-centre divide and sideways sweep across the forehead, she opts for an almost completely open face. The curls, though, are every bit as flamboyant as the 1950s originals.

Medium length curly hairstyles can only gain from Scarlett Johannson's embrace. She's not a natural curly and keeps a good length of straight, parted hair before her yellow blonde locks explode into artificial curls. Artificial, yes, but they suit her. Beautifully.

With any luck she's wearing hair extensions, and hasn't damaged her hair with the infernal implements and potions that stylists use to change the texture of women's hair.

Halle Berry, on the other hand, does have naturally curly hair. It looks best, too, when she lets it be curly. Over the years she's worn a range of medium curly hair cuts, short and medium wavy styles, long hair dos and updos. Like Scarlett Johannson, she can wear almost anything. A classic off-centre, chin length style, for instance, or a medium curly updo with headband.

Kylie Minogue has a great fondness for curly medium hair cuts. This is hardly surprising. Her style, her market, her music and her range of lingerie are all about sex. Her hair reflects that style. She has totally tousled, unrestrained hair falling in sinuous waves across her face and one eye, moving when she does but with a life of its own.
