Curly Hair

by Kaitlyn
(California)

My hair was curly when I was born. Then, as I got older, it became board straight. I hit puberty, and it curled again.

A lot of these stories talk about girls who get made fun of for having curly hair. Well, I've lived a lot of different places, 7 places, and everywhere I go, people love my hair.

The only problem that I have is with it getting all frizzy. I don't know how to fix it!

Any help??

Maybe this will help...?
by: Vayda

Okay so this is kinda like my hair! (well there was no picture ... maybe that was my computers fault?)

Everyone flips out and tells me it's soo pretty but I can't stand it cause I seem to always have like a layer of frizz over all the gorgeous girls ... and I don't ALWAYS wanna wear it up!

So here's what I figured out to do ...

1) Once a month, I pick a day when I am going to shower and instead of shampoo I take about 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda and put it in warm water and dissolve it. Then I kinda like rinse my hair with that but scrub it in ... then rinse it ALL out. What this does is scrub out all the nasty shampoo residue that gets stuck in curly hair and not only weighs it down but makes it frizzy. The day you do this, don't put gel or anything in, and don't go anywhere ... cause your hair might look weird. It just cleans it.

2) The other thing I do about once a month is an egg scrub in my hair. You can find some really great ones on google ... but basically it's eggs in your hair. It's goopy and gross but it makes your hair really moisturized and VERY shiny!

3) When I do use gel (which I only use when I have to go some place, otherwise it's all natural) I only use about a dime size worth, sometimes a nickel if I want the wetter look, and then I take water and put a puddle of water over it in my hand. Flip my head over and scrunch it in, focusing on the top part of my head, but NOT the roots because it will look greasy. But I water it down cause then I get the smoother, individual curl look, without the gel weighting it down, and without the frizz.

Okay so this is just what I do ... give it a try. If it works, you're welcome and SOOO glad I could help. If not ... sorry and pass on the info to a friend!

Good Luck! Embrace the curl!!!
