I was a teenager during the era of the stick-straight hairstyles of the 70's, so I was always fighting a (losing) battle with my curls.
Wouldn't even have thought to wear it long! (No great products to tame the frizz back then!) Plus, I played sports and needed to keep my hair out of my face. (No great hair accessories back then either!)
So I kept it short and did what I could to keep it from sticking out every which way. It wasn't until I was nearly 40 that I realized I could grow it long and that it would look ... alright.
Now I'm starting to wonder if I am getting too old for long hair and should get it cut, but I can't find a haircut I like and I'm worried it'll turn out looking like my high school yearbook photo all over again!
